Sir J. Z. Davis
I beg to inform you that the Chinese prisoner in the Debtors Prison for non payment of Costs in the Case of Ching Chong Cheng is surrendered. These Costs have been already taxed by the Registrar of the Supreme Court.
The Crown accepted from Mr Bush the Rent due on Inland Lot No 9 for which proceedings were instituted against Mr Livingston, and the cause set down for Trial. Mr Livingston paying his own costs but not the Plaintiff's.
To The Honble: Major B Caine, Colonial Secretary.
